Dear Parent,
I suppose you’ve repeatedly asked your son or daughter what they are learning in school only to get the famous reply, “I dunno…nothing.” After getting the same reply over and over you begin to lose hope in even asking again. But hey, you and I both know that they need your concern and support and that’s why you keep asking, isn’t it? And that’s why you’re looking at this site. As a good parent, you want to find out a little more about us right now and we say thanks! At 180remix, we’d like to be just another support system for your student, but first let me tell you a little about us and let you decide.
The purpose of 180remix is simple: take truths from the Bible and apply them to life. The 180remix Staff and I work hard to make each Wednesday night a time where students can show up, have fun and learn about God in a way that relates to them and is easy to understand. 180remix is not about religion; rather, it’s about knowing God and having an incredible relationship with Him. We have students from all kinds of different denominational backgrounds and others who have never stepped through the doors of a church before. The main thing to us is not their church background but about giving them an opportunity to experience God in a real and wonderful way.
It’s also really important for us to help promote some fun and meaningful friendships. I often say, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” We want to surround your son or daughter with some positive influences. One way we help create these relationships is through our Remix Groups. These age-specific groups of 20 or so people hang out with each other and regularly meet outside of the Wednesday night service. If your son or daughter is not currently involved in a Remix Group, I would highly suggest it. It’s a great way for them to feel connected, have a lot of fun and be around some students their own age, not to mention some great leaders!
Great parents know what their kids are up to and I am so thankful that you are that kind of a parent. Sadly, in today’s culture most parents wouldn’t take the time to look into what their child is doing. So again, thanks for being the exception! I would also like to personally invite you to attend a Wednesday night service. We have great parents like you who sneak in all the time to see what this place is all about. (I’ll even get you some earplugs. We can be pretty loud!)
Seriously though, we just really want to support you and your student through some of the most life-changing and challenging years of their lives. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. We sincerely appreciate the huge privilege of being a part of your student’s life!
God’s best,
Pastor Josh Mayo
